The Hartford Steel Symphony
Sunday, October 19, 2008    2:00–2:45p.m.

Enjoy the sounds of Soca, Calypso, Reggae, Pop, Classical, Gospel and Jazz—all with an island rhythm! Refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the performance.

Free tickets for this performance will be available at the Children's circulation desk starting Monday, October 6, 2008.

Join the Parade—BEE a reader!
Saturday, October 4, 2008 9:00 a.m.–12:00 noon

March in the Park Road Parade with the Faxon Branch staff and volunteers.
Come dressed as your favorite literary character, in your Halloween costume,
as a bee or other wild-life pest, or even as yourself…and be a MARCHER!

Please register at the Faxon Branch Circulation Desk by October 1st.

Art Walk

Children who love to draw, paint, make collages or take pictures or make sculptures  have a chance to show their art work at the “Bishop’s Corner Art Walk”.  We will be displaying Children’s art work in and out side of the library.  So bring your very best work, signed with your name and age to the Bishop’s Corner Branch library beginning September 2nd and we will save it to display during the Art festival!

Pumpkin, Pumpkin, who can paint a funny, scary, pretty cool looking pumpkin?

Come to the Bishop’s Corner library on Saturday October 11th any time between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to paint a small pumpkin or two!  You may keep one and put one on display for pumpkin week.  Can’t make it on the 11th? Then come on Wednesday afternoon October 15th between 2 and 4 to paint a pumpkin.
